So today, we were greeted by several ‘interesting’ ways of building a motor. Here are a couple, with explanations.

Ok… this is a BRAND NEW shortblock, assembled by professional techs and given to a customer in ‘great working condition’. Yes, that is dirt in all the cylinders. And Yes, that is copper spray EVERYWHERE including the pistons, walls, the entire block surface, the side of the motor and over most of the top too….

But that wasn’t enough for these guys. Oh no, they had to copper spray the ENTIRE HEAD. Yes, even the poor spark plug is covered in copper spray….slick.
But wait…. this is even better. Prepare yourself for the greatest vacuum block of all time.

See, what we have here is the vacuum line for the wastegate, blow off valve and fuel pressure regulator. It is installed using a white plastic T that has been burnt with a lighter to seal off one end. Then it was installed using both silicone and duct tape. Now, it isn’t just in any hose… this is installed in the brake booster hose, before the check valve.
So, imagine when this pops out at WOT. The car goes full boost, drops fuel pressure, pops the motor and then has no brakes.
Sweet.
